Alborada for solo guitar was written for Karin Hofer and Sean Hepburn Ferrer, on the occasion for their wedding. The Alborada is a morning serenade, traditionally sung in the doorway of a sleeping woman at dawn. The idea of dawn here is also in- tended to reflect the new beginning of two people marrying. The work is in a simple ABA form, with an opening recitative-like section, followed by a simple choral melody and a final return of the opening declamation.

Alborada pour guitare seule est dédiée à Karin Hofer et Sean Hepburn Ferrer, à l'ocassion de leur mariage. L'Alborada est la version espagnole de l'Aubade, une sérénade matinale traditionnellement chantée sur le pas-de-porte d'une dame endormie. L'idée de l'aube ici est aussi évocatrice de deux personnes qui recommencent leurs vies à travers une mariage. La pièce dans une forme ABA, avec un début en récitatif, suivie par une mélodie en choral et un retour du thème du début.
